"As a youngster, I spent most of my summer weekends at airshows or at the Tank Museum, watching the machines that are now part of our nation's history. At both, I always found the older machines more fascinating. Aircraft like the Spitfire, the Hurricane, and behemoths of the tank world like the Tiger I and Churchill captured my imagination way more than the modern stuff. They had a history, and it gave them a personality. They were more like mythical creatures than weapons of war.

My interest in WWII grew from there, boosted by the release of productions like Saving Private Ryan, The Thin Red Line, and Band of Brothers.

As a teenager living in Leicestershire, I soon began to hear stories of the 82nd Airborne Division living in camps dotted all over our county as they prepared for their missions in WWII. At 16, having recognised that every book to date covered mostly their time in combat, I began to gather information on their time in England, training for war and mingling with the locals. That led to my 2015 release, "And Suddenly they were gone." Just before this, I was honoured to be asked by 82nd Airborne Division veteran, George Shenkle, to write his biography, a 2014 release entitled "My Clear Conscience."

My interest in the Airborne inevitably led me to an interest in Troop Carrier Command, the much-maligned Air Force boys who carried the Airborne to combat. In 2019 I released Volume 1 of the "Breathtaking Spectacle" book series with my good friend, Hans den Brok.

I continue to work on the book series with Hans and provide research services and expert advice on the 82nd Airborne Division and IX Troop Carrier Command where needed. If you feel I can help you, do not hesitate to ask."

Adam has worked on several projects outside of bookwork. He has worked as a subject matter expert for the History Channel and has helped with council projects to recognise historically significant WWII sites in the UK. Adam is currently part of the team looking to create an "Airborne Trail" in South Kesteven District Council to catalog sites within the area connected to the Airborne Operations of WWII. Hopefully, this will provide a stepping stone for other councils to follow suit, creating an Airborne trail spanning multiple counties. This will recognise the camp-sites, airfields, and Headquarters locations of the British and American Airborne Divisions stationed in the UK and their Troop Carrier counterparts.

Adam has been proactive in constructing two memorials in the UK, and has provided historical context for several others. He is now in the early stages of a large memorial project in Leicestershire.

Adam lives in Leicestershire with his wife, Sophie, and their two girls, Evelyn and Maisie.
